Empathise
Personas
The first question we always had to solve was WHO are we designed for? To best understand our users we created personas that detailed their background information, skill, goals, every day task and pain points. Empathizing with a user drives design decisions throughout the development process.

Workflow

Low-Fidelity Mockups

Prototype
I use Axure to build everything from scaled down and simplified prototypes to high-fidelity complex prototypes. It is an excellent tool for usability testing as well as documenting the workflow for developers.

Test
Our usability testing was a combination of a quantitative and qualitative approach. We used a rainbow spreadsheet to measure the success rates of task but our greatest insights came from the conversations we had with our users.

High-Fidelity Mockups
Here are just a couple mockups….
